Socks on Two Neeldes

That's a first for me :) I will say that I think I like it more that double pointed needles in many practical ways.

1) I don't get that "ladder" effect where I change from needle to needle on DPNs

2) The stitches aren't prone to want to fall of the needles every time I put them down or pick them up lol

3) I think it really helps that I finally have a book with GREAT patterns that can be adjusted over and over instead of just one pattern.

So, I'm almost done with the fist sock. (This picture was taken a couple of nights ago and I'm actually halfway through the foot now)

As soon as I finish this pair, I'll cast on for a pair I've been promising to do for J.

Not Really About Knitting

I guess, but since it seems to be an unwritten rule that all knitters own cats - here's mine.

Now, at first glance, she looks sweet, no? Merely curious about the roses on the coffee table...

Yet, upon closer inspection, you will notice that she's not so sweet as neurotic and attempting to EAT my flowers.....

Cats are such very odd little creatures lol

I Finished It!

I finished my Daughter's nightgown last night while watchin Surf's Up with the kids. (Really cute movie, by the way!!! Awesome soundtrack)

Anyway....

I got the pattern here. (She also sells fabulous recyled yarn that she dyes herself. So, definately check out her whole site.)

I did make one slight change to the pattern. Instead of doing an m1 on the increase round, I did yarn overs, because later today I'll run lace through the holes and make a tie/bow at the front of the gown.

I can see me making many more of these, some as nightgowns and some as summer dresses.

R absolutely loves it :)

EEEK!

I was taking a break from housecleaning and knitting a round on a new sock. (I'm learning how to make socks on two circulars. Interesting.) Anyway, I finished the last purl stitch. I went to move the stitches to the middle of the needle and noticed that I had three stitches missing. Quick look and I realize that my needle BROKE at the join. So, I picked up the stitches, moved them to the cord that connects the two needles and am now waiting for my boys to get home so I can run to the yarn store and see about a replacement. Yikes! I was loving those needles too. Weird thing is, it didn't come away from the join. The wood literally splintered there. Odd.

Neato Peachy Keen-o

Saw this neat little gadget on another knitter's blog and just HAD to check it out. Very cool!!! It "graphs" your website, or blog, into a picture. Really a very neat thing to watch be created.
